Happy Halloween, everyone! And welcome to our new Reading Group members! I appreciate you all so much! I have been trying to write this since the beginning of the month. October has always been my favorite, but this one has been a trial.
Earlier this month, my husband broke his arm, a spiral fracture to his humerus, and after nearly seven hours in the emergency room, we left at 7:30 am with a cloth sling, some painkillers, and instructions to see a bone specialist who could—hopefully—set the fracture, or arrange for surgery. It took us three days to get into a specialist, and my husband into a compression cast and arm stabilizer, but we won’t know for another week or so if he’ll need to have the surgery. But we are focusing on the positives. We’re glad it was his left arm—he’s right-handed—and he’s happy to be off the hook for almost all household chores for the next eight weeks or so. And I’m glad I have an excuse to keep my Halloween decorations up just a little longer. Who has time to lug all those boxes up and down the stairs with so much extra housework to do?!
This month was also our anniversary! Luckily, it wasn’t one of those milestone numbers, and we managed our first outing together that wasn’t doctor-related since his accident. This month is also my best friend's anniversary. Today, to be exact! I was his… best man? Best woman? And pregnant enough that I was afraid I’d topple over in my heels. Since then, I have sworn off being in weddings! I’ve done my duty!
October seems to have been made for anniversaries, so it only makes sense that this month is also the 10th anniversary of Cold Fingers! Cold Fingers was the first book I wrote for myself, not something dictated by a prompt or by a fundraiser, just me writing for me. And even though I know my skills have improved, it still might be my favorite. Ridiculously outlandish, spooky fun.
To celebrate its anniversary—Wow! If Cold Fingers is ten years old, that means I’ve been writing for eleven!—the complete series has been released in one collection.
I know many—if not most of you—found me through this series, but if you’re one of the ones who didn’t, you can pick up The Cold Fingers Collection: the complete Christopher Minnick trilogy as both an eBook (most everywhere) and paperback (at the big A).
I promise, it’s not scary! LOL
You can grab it—along with everything else—now for 45% off from JMS Books as part of their Halloween Sale through the end of Saturday!

The Cold Fingers Collection
The Complete Christopher Minnick Trilogy
Love. Death. And everything in between.
Ten years ago, Cold Fingers introduced readers to Christopher Minnick—a reluctant hero with a sarcastic tongue, an oddly endearing circle of friends, and his fair share of hang-ups. Now, in celebration of its 10th anniversary, the complete trilogy is collected in one delightfully macabre box set.
Christopher's life may not have been perfect, but his death is a pain in the ass.
Cold Fingers (book 1)
Christopher Minnick is at a bad place in his life. Turning thirty and newly out of the hospital, the last thing he wants to do is attend a birthday dinner, even one thrown in his honor.
When he is introduced to a friend's godson, things just might be starting to look up.
Or are they?
Victor Polidori seems like the perfect man. He's clever, attractive and interested. But, even as Christopher finds himself falling in love, there are some things that just don't add up. And when bodies start disappearing, Christopher knows he needs to get to the bottom of it.
Will Christopher find his happily ever after or is it true what they say? All the good ones are either married or straight. Or they're necrophiliacs.
Body of Work (book 2)
Life with Vic isn't exactly what Christopher Minnick was expecting. His boyfriend has given him a new lease on life—literally—but he doesn't have a job, Jessie thinks he's a ghost, and there are only so many closets on hand for shoving Jonathan into. Now, with Lee back in the limelight, things just might become more than Christopher can handle.
Lee Hellstrom is hitting the big screen after more than three decades and, with the much younger Grant Cooper at his side on the red carpet, he plans to make a lasting impression. The only problem is that not all the attention Lee has drawn is good.
When Lee goes missing, it's up to Christopher, Vic, and Grant to save the old man from a most horrible of fates.
Pretty Plastic (book 3)
Christopher Minnick is still not a zombie.
Three months after his run-in with the vampire Marcus Gråsson, Christopher's ankle has healed but his life is anything but perfect. There are people watching the house. Flora's worried about the scarecrow. And after an unexpected tragedy strikes, Christopher will need to figure out how to deal with the loss without tearing a rift between his brother and himself.
When Victor accepts a job with Pretty, a prestigious private hospital, to work alongside the handsome Austen Poole, Christopher ends up with one more thing to worry about. While it might seem like a dream job, there's something not quite right in paradise, and when Vic starts acting strangely, Christopher will stop at nothing to get his man back.
When striving for perfection, you sometimes need to get your hands a little dirty.
In other news, while I don’t have a date yet, That Rat Carter Jenson is soon to be rereleased as book one in my new series, Ancient History, and followed shortly by book two in the series, The Ghost of Burr-Fawn Hall.
Ancient History is a series of standalone, contemporary romances, connected by art/antiquity crime, mystery, and loosely connected characters.
I’ll keep you updated!
I think that’s it for now, but hopefully I’ll be back sooner this time around. And until then, take care of yourself, and watch out for each other!
