Happy August!

Somehow I'm both shocked it's already August and baffled that it's not yet September. I'm ready for school to start, more than ready—I have three kids—ready for cooler weather and for my romance reads to hold something a little spooky.

With my kids out of school, I've spent most of the summer working from home, and trying to balance work, writing and kids when you're all cooped up together most of everyday, is not something that comes easy. I need an evening library escape—to catch up on writing—and a date night like you wouldn't believe! I get the library escape a couple times a week. Date night? Not often! 😢 I'm a firm believer that if you can't grab alone time with your significant other, you're going to forget why you liked them all that much in the first place!

Right now my husband has plummeted down to a 6.5 on the dateability scale! LOL

On the writing front, That Rat, Carter Janson has now been out just over six months. I've been thrilled with the reception and I can't thank you all enough for the reviews and the kind messages. And, while I have several projects going on, with a publisher on board, I can now say that there will be a Cold Fingers Book 3!

For those not familiar with the series, it's my take on the modern gothic romance, and it follows the life, love and many crises of Chrisopher Minnick and Victor Polidori. It's always a hell of a good time to write and if you like paranormal, vampires and all things unexpected, it might be right up your alley.

So lets make it official! :D

So now my focus is deadline, deadline, deadline. I love a deadline!

You can expect the new book to hit online stores in early October. I already have a title and even a cover—see a peek above—but the real fun and games won't start until late September with trivia and giveaways and a blurb and cover reveal! So keep an eye on your email!

Once again, Cold Fingers Book 3 will also be part of a Buried Desires Book 3 collection as well as being released individually. I'll be joining two other authors this time around as we each offer up our own brand of spooky!

What have you been reading?

I write because I LOVE to read. I think that is the same with most everyone who eventually breaks down and decides to try their hand at telling a story. But the more I write, the less time I have for reading and those moments become ultra-precious. That's why I'm always looking for recommendations!

So, what are you reading? What have you fallen in love with? And why did it work for you?

For me, a book doesn't have to be perfect for me to love it. It just has to have a good story. I'm open to just about any genre, though BDSM stuff is really just not my cup of tea, or my rack of whips, if that's better. LOL I'll take HEA and HFN, but I warn you, I'm so much a romantic that I have rarely read an HFN that in my mind wasn't an HEA because…LOVE!

This summer I've read quite a few books. More than I have in a long while. My last two reads were Once Around Seven by my buddy Ofelia Gränd. It is just everything you expect from one of Ofelia's trope romances! Some depth, some fun and men with beards! Yum! I also read Betty Machete and the Office Sharks by Neptune Flowers. Mr. Flowers is a new name in M/M and this was a total surprise. Think bad boy merman, office orgies, romance and chaos! It's a fun and definitely NSFW read.

I highly recommend them both!
